SELANGOR, 30 May 2024 – MGB Berhad (“MGB” or the “Group”), a construction and property development solutions provider and subsidiary of LBS Bina Group Berhad, held a roof topping ceremony on 24 May 2024, marking completion of the building structure phase of its Idaman Melur project, located in Cybersouth, Dengkil, Selangor Darul Ehsan. The ceremony was officiated by Tan Sri Ir. (Dr.) Lim Hock San, MGB’s Group Executive Chairman.
The building structure was in fact completed approximately one month ahead of schedule, primarily made possible through the innovative use of the Group’s in-house industrialised building system (“IBS”) pre-cast concrete technology. Being efficient and consistent is of upmost importance in the construction process, MGB emphasizes the use of IBS pre-cast concrete for its construction projects. To date, this has reduced its construction time by 33% and manual labour by 31%. MGB’s IBS factories are capable of producing IBS pre-cast concrete panels for up to 6,000 units of residential properties annually.
Using its IBS pre-cast concrete technology, MGB is set to deliver 7,210 units of affordable homes under the Rumah Selangorku Idaman MBI initiative. MGB is dedicated to fulfilling its obligations to provide affordable homes to qualified Malaysians residing within the state of Selangor, while supporting the state government’s goal of constructing 30,000 affordable homes by 2025. Meanwhile, MGB is looking forward to delivering vacant possession to eager home owners for Idaman BSP @ Bandar Saujana Putra, which is scheduled for the third quarter of this year. Both Idaman BSP and Idaman Melur respectively form two of the six Rumah Selangorku Idaman MBI projects that are being developed by MGB.
Speaking at the ceremony, Tan Sri Ir. (Dr.) Lim said, “The roof topping of a building symbolises the culmination of hard work and bright future. It represents our unwavering commitment to excellence in everything we do. As we affix this final beam in place, let it serves as a testament to our dedication to quality craftsmanship. Let us not forget the communities that will benefit from this project, the families who will call it home and the neighbourhoods that will flourish around it.
He further added, “With a focus on showcasing our expertise in IBS pre-cast concrete installations, MGB is clearly well-positioned for continued growth both domestically and internationally. Our purchase orders received from Sany Alameriah for the supply and installation of pre-cast elements for 400 units in the ROSHN Alarous development in Jeddah is on schedule, with the pre-cast concrete elements already being supplied and installed on-site progressively. We remain focused to deliver the best products and services for our customers.”
