Petaling Jaya, 23 July 2025 – MGB Berhad (“MGB” or “the Group”), a leading construction and property development solutions provider and a subsidiary of LBS Bina Group Berhad, has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Collaboration (“MOC”) with Doka Formwork Malaysia Sdn Bhd (“Doka”), part of Doka GmbH, a global leader in formwork, scaffolding, and engineering solutions.

Guests from Malaysia were received by Mr Robert Hauser, the CEO of Doka GmbH on arrival at Doka’s headquarters in Austria. Under this strategic collaboration, both parties will be looking to develop new or innovative engineering solutions for projects that utilized IBS precast concrete elements under MGB’s purview.

Doka’s leadership in providing optimised formwork systems, scaffolding solutions, engineering design, and technical support for cast in-situ concrete elements will be crucial to complementing MGB’s IBS precast concrete technology that is used for efficient and quality in mass construction of residential units. By leveraging on the strengths of each party, Doka and MGB will look towards coming up with enhancements through innovation on the existing IBS precast concrete technology, by supplementing and combining relevant formwork and scaffolding solutions with on-site precast concrete elements such as panels, with an aim to integrate such solutions seamlessly. Both parties will also endeavour to explore opportunities, align technical strategies, and implement innovative construction solutions that deliver measurable value and performance.

Additionally, this collaboration is one more step in MGB’s aspiration and continuous effort to digitize and optimize its operations and construction process, as Malaysia advances toward a more efficient, sustainable, and modern construction industry. Through IBS precast concrete technology, MGB has successfully controlled its material usage and reduced wastage. In line with its on-going ESG goals, MGB consistently improves its ways to upscale the skills of its workers towards automation and skilled roles, especially in design and manufacturing, while reducing its carbon footprint by incorporating sustainable practices into its processes.

The signing of the MOC was attended by key leaders from both parties. For MGB, the session was led by Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Ir. (Dr.) Lim Hock San MGB’s Group Executive Chairman, and Datuk Lim Lit Chek, MGB’s Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer. Doka was represented by Mr. Robert Hauser and Mr. Teh Aun Kua, and Malaysia’s Country Manager.

Commenting on the potential that the strategic collaboration can deliver, Tan Sri Lim Hock San, said:

“By partnering with a global formwork leader like Doka, we are not only enhancing the quality and efficiency of our projects in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia, but also reinforcing our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and international excellence. We believe this will lead to stronger project outcomes and long-term value for all stakeholders.”
