At MGB Berhad, sustainability and Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) excellence are integral to our operations, and our efforts have led to an increase it’s our FTSE Russell ESG Ratings from 3.7 to 3.8 from 22 December 2025 onwards. The rating also maintains our 4-Star Rating achieved under Bursa Malaysia’s FTSE4Good ESG Rating since 2024 as well, which recognises public-listed companies with solid ESG practices.

MGB Berhad continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) excellence, achieving its highest ESG score of 3.8 in 2025. This milestone reflects the Company’s continued focus on embedding sustainability and responsible business practices across its operations.

In recognition of its ESG performance, MGB achieved a 4-Star Rating under Bursa Malaysia’s FTSE4Good ESG Ratings in 2024 and was subsequently listed in the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia (F4GBM) Index in 2025, which recognises public-listed companies with strong liquidity and ESG practices.

MGB’s achievements were further recognised at The Edge Malaysia ESG Awards 2025, where the Company won:

i. Gold for Outstanding ESG Performance and Dividend Return, and

    ii. Gold in the Construction Category

    LAYING THE FOUNDATION

    MGB commenced its Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) programs for the year starting in June 2025 with a fundraising bowling event for the residents of Rumah Mega Kanak-Kanak Orang Asli. This program provided an opportunity for the children to experience bowling at Wangsa Bowl in 1 Utama for the day. In July, the company organised its first ever in-house CSR program Hati Kongsi, through a collaboration with Kembara Kitchen to pack and distribute meals to the residents of Promise Home and Ebenezer Home in the vicinity of Kota Kemuning. Employees of the company who participated have benefited from the experience by gaining an understanding of the hardships faced by certain communities on the fringes of society that may be passed over or prevented from benefit from social aid or welfare programs that flow down to the more recognised or notable charity organisations.

    In the month of August MGB collaborated with Zoo Negara through its Grow Project to plant 500 saplings within the boundaries of the zoo, contributing to a rejuvenation of the surrounding ecosystem. MGB also participated in the zoo’s Adopt an Animal Programme, which MGB selected the Malayan Tiger to adopt as part of its biodiversity conservation efforts.

    MAINTAINING GOVERNANCE

    MGB continues to maintain its standard of governance and integrity at all times. The company periodically reviews and updates all of its policies, with a focus on Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) Policy, Gift, Entertainment & Hospitality Policy, and Donations & Sponsorships Policy. These exercises are designed to stay relevant and up to date with current developments in regulations and law to ensure compliance and retention of stakeholder trust.

    THE YEAR AHEAD

    For the year ahead, MGB continues to integrate sustainability principles into its operations, from digitalisation to improve productivity to CSR programs that engage both employees and the community alike, and environmental preservation and conservation efforts that take small but meaningful steps that translate into long term plans. MGB continues to look forward and find creative ways to enhance its disclosures and build its narrative around the delicate balance of business interests and the communities.

    In addition to existing initiatives, MGB looks forward to working with more conversation efforts of both flora and fauna spearheaded by both NGO’s and government agencies. MGB also looks to continue collaboration with organisations that are keen to improve the livelihood of those underprivileged or on the frine society to ensure that the community as a whole can benefit from its effort to remain sustainable and ESG conscious.
